Section 4. New Members
a. A candidate for membership shall be
sponsored by a member in good standing who shall transmit the application from
the membership secretary to the prospective member.
b. The sponsor shall be responsible for the
candidate's membership process which includes introducing the candidate
informally to the Board members and familiarizing the candidate with the
duties of a member. The sponsor will return the completed application to the
membership secretary.
c. Applications for membership shall be
presented by the membership secretary at a meeting of the Board of Directors.
A 2/3 vote of the Board shall be necessary for nomination. An approved
application will be transmitted to the membership secretary for presentation
to the general membership.
d. The nominated candidates shall be voted for
acceptance by a majority vote of the members present at a monthly meeting.
e. An applicant for membership, if accepted,
may become a member at the following meeting. When a new member is accepted
into the Society, the president shall read to him Article 1, Sections 1, 2,
and 3 of the bylaws.
f. Each new member shall be given a copy of the
constitution and bylaws.
