The Uljas Koitto ("Noble Endeavor") Temperance Society was
founded in Quincy Massachusetts in 1892 to discourage the use of
alcohol and illicit drugs and inform about Finnish
Culture, we have maintained our mission for over 110 years and
are registered with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as
non-profit organization. We practice our beliefs in
hard work, good times, good food, and The Good Sauna.
February 20, 2007: we have created a DVD of transferred 16mm film footage of Trinity Lutheran Church
in Quincy, MA when it
was built/opened in 1949, some film of the previous church on Suomi
Road (1940s), and also footage of Camp Four Winds "Lutherland"
in Pembroke, MA.

Our central building(s) and grounds are located
in Pembroke, Massachusetts on Furnace Pond which provide
society members and the public:
- A welcome respite from a complex
life
- The use of a genuine wood-fired Finnish
"dry" Sauna
- Dinners, suppers, and other social
events
- A moral atmosphere free of alcohol and
illicit drugs.
